Twin Peaks
Sculptural light work carved from reclaimed Texas pecan.
Work Description
Twin Peaks is hand-shaped from a single section of reclaimed Texas pecan, defined by an asymmetric crest that resolves into two distinct vertical rises. The dual summits establish the work’s compositional balance, creating a subtle dialogue between separation and cohesion within a restrained, vertical form.
A carved internal channel introduces light from above, directing illumination downward through the pecan’s dense grain. As light moves through the interior, variations in amber tone and natural fissures become more pronounced, allowing surface texture and material history to remain visually active without dominating the form.
Anchored by a brushed stainless-steel base, Twin Peaks presents a measured, contemplative presence. Transitions between refined surfaces and raw edges are preserved intentionally, reinforcing the work’s material honesty and structural clarity.
Each Arte LUMIS piece is one-of-a-kind.

Twin Peaks was developed by allowing the natural asymmetry of the pecan to define the final form. Material removal was guided by the emerging dual crest rather than a predetermined symmetry. Light was integrated after the form resolved, introduced from above to emphasize internal depth and surface variation while maintaining a grounded, downward visual flow.
