Our motivation
Meet the Artist
Stefan Dragitsch is the founder and artist behind Arte LUMIS, a bold fusion of natural wood and sculpted light. Born in Bucharest, Romania and raised in Munich, Germany Stefan built a successful international career in sales and marketing before taking an unexpected turn. In 2024, after more than three decades in the corporate world, he left Europe behind once again and planted roots in Round Rock, Texas—ready to reimagine his future through art.
Working with entire logs and large wood cross-sections, Stefan creates luminous, sculptural works that celebrate the raw elegance of nature. His lighting art is modern yet organic, grounded in the natural forms and imperfections of salvaged wood. Each piece begins with a discarded tree—sourced locally through Austin’s Wood Reclamation Program—and is transformed into a singular work of functional light sculpture.
Stefan crafts his pieces in his home garage and at the Asmbly Makerspace in Austin, where the only restriction is that chainsawing happens in the parking lot. His signature collections—Columna LUX and Discus LUX—channel warmth, drama, and simplicity into each handmade form. Arte LUMIS will debut at The Arbors at Round Top in October 2025.
