Carved from a centuries-old olive branch once rooted in the limestone hills of the small town of Peschici in southern Italy, Dancing Cobra moves like flame captured in motion. Its sinuous curve rises with an almost serpentine grace, narrowing and twisting before opening at the crown to reveal a single, hidden source of light in its crown as well as two additional ones in the base of the piece. The warm glow escapes through the wood’s natural hollows, illuminating the golden grain and revealing the age-darkened heart of the olive.
Mounted on a precision-cut stainless-steel base, this sculptural lamp bridges the organic and the architectural — a dialogue between permanence and fluidity. Each contour is left largely as nature designed it; only the interior was hollowed and polished to channel the light in subtle gradations of amber and gold.
